Abs. Apparently everyone wants them. But the way people go about getting them isn't the smartest. I mean, I understand where their logic comes from - stupid diet culture, stupid messages on the Internet etc. But I honestly get women messaging me ON THE DAILY telling me that they are doing cardio every day and dieting, but they don't see abs?!?!? Check out my YouTube video/live-stream on Facebook where I talk about how DIETING aka restricting food and doing cardio will not BUILD muscle. And abs are A MUSCLE. In order to BUILD muscle, you can't be in a caloric deficit, you just can't. What you need to do is EAT and TRAIN. And by train, I don't mean do a few ab exercises on your bedroom floor. I mean do COMPOUND movements AKA movements like squats, dead lifts, bench press, etc. that require you to use your ENTIRE body to perform. When you do a squat you need to engage your abs to keep proper posture. See what I'm saying here? There is nothing wrong with doing ab specific movements, but when you train your body OVERALL, you will see better results. When I was severely restricting food and the cardio queen, I didn't have abs. Why? Because my body was starving and holding on to anything it could. There was no way I could have muscle.
It wasn't until I started strength training and eating more when I saw ab muscles develop. You need to TRAIN SMART. I can help you do that through my Personalized Workout Programs. And you need to eat to support your goals. It sounds scary if you've been dieting for so long, but I promise it's worth it. Do you want to be the cardio queen forever or do you want to BE STRONG. Don't get me wrong, I believe in doing what you LOVE. But if you have a goal, you need to be smart about it. And if you've been doing something over and over for so long, and you're getting no where, it's time to change things up. XO
