Today I am SO excited to feature some of my POP Pilates students! As you may know, I have been a POP instructor for a while and it has changed my life so much. Teaching makes me so happy and I leave each class on cloud 9! Through teaching POP I have met some INCREDIBLE people. Honestly, I look forward to teach class knowing I get to spend an hour (or more) with them. Women AND men of all ages, shapes, sizes, backgrounds and views inspire me to grow and be a better, more helpful person.

"Working out has always been a passion of mine. But one can only do so much running on the treadmill, bicep curls and push ups before getting bored. Around this time last year is when I discovered POP Pilates. Although I was living out in Edmonton, AB I started seeing and hearing about the new craze in the Ottawa Valley called "POP Pilates" and I started following Steph on Instagram. I saw snippets of the workouts, Pilates and yoga poses, and of course the eye-catching POPFLEX yoga mats and cute outfits. I couldn't wait to visit to take a class. My first class was exactly what I wanted it to be; it was literally "a dance on the mat!" The music was catchy and the moves flowed right to the beat of the music. Steph provided modifications to the moves as well, which was great for us new students! The hour-long class went by so fast - I felt amazing! fast forward to almost a year later, I'm back in the valley and a regular at Steph's POP classes. I've finally found a fitness regimen that I can not only stick to, but want to inspire others just like I felt when I first stumbled across POP Pilates. "Coming from the GTA it has been a goal of mine to find new activities but also similar type of activities that I was used to #missoldlifestyle. It's been challenging to find some of these but as soon as I came to my first class with Stephanie it was... #loveatfirstmove. "I love POP for a lot of reasons, for starters it’s the most fun workout out I’ve ever done, honestly, we’ve done moves called the Gazelle, Froggers, Fire Hydrant... your catching my drift here right. Every time you come in you never know what you’re going to get from Steph, it’s always a hard workout where you leave feeling good and sweaty. It’s made me become one of those people that enjoy working out and feel off when I miss a day. Another reason I love POP is the people, they don’t care what your wearing or what shape or size you are, no one cares if you need to do modification or if you only end up doing 3 push ups. We’re all just there to have a great work out and a good time. I’ve met and made friends with some amazing people because of POP"
"From being picked last in gym to manipulative boyfriends who forced me to work out, I've never had a healthy relationship with exercise. It wasn't my thing (I was too girly and uncoordinated for that) and whenever I stepped into the gym, I felt like I was there for some one else, not myself. So I refused to go. It wasn't until I discovered POP during a "single" phase that I began to enjoy the benefits of exercise and have fun doing it. Now, I can't imagine my week without stepping on to the mat. POP has allowed me to be healthier; it has inspired me to try new things; and it has given me confidence in my strength and abilities. It's a supportive community filled with amazing people, whom each have their own unique story."
"POP Pilates is fantastic!! I love it for many reasons. I am not big on working out. With POP I Sweat, have elevated heart rate and hurt but love it. It is all choreographed to music, which makes it fun!. When you feel like you have had enough of one particular exercise you know that when the song ends so does it. Then on to the next.When I first started POP I could not do half of the moves. With each class I got stronger. I have been going now for about a year and a half and have never felt stronger and in better shape than I do now. I would recommend this to anyone young or older."
Students love POP for so many reasons and it makes me so happy to see each and every one of them SMILE during their workout. In fact one student said "actually had fun working out for once..I liked POP because it's different from doing any other workout! It's more upbeat and fun but gives you a challenge at the same time!" This was at an all-day fitness marathon at a local school!
POP has changed the face of group fitness. It's a routine that you don't expect to be as hard as it is! Being a POP instructor is SO rewarding because of the students.
