Today I'm talking about ditching the meal plans and workout guides that are plastered online. You may have saw my rant that was posted the other day. If you haven't, here it is ;) If you agree, please like and share this video!
I posted this picture on my Instagram and was like "OMG 30 DAY SUMMER AB PROGRAM!" But seriously, that's the hype right now. Gettin' ready for dat bikini. You might think, "but Steph, you have abs" etc. etc. etc. Yes, but I didn't do no 30 day program. I worked for years. I also didn't do no detox or meal plan. I just ate. Please remember to respect all bodies.
But I did do something. I was lifting all year, but over the last 6 weeks I was dedicated to a progressive overloading program. Which I am officially done today! EEEK. Basically I increased reps of certain movements each week until I was doing 5 sets of 8 this week! THAT is how you build strength and muscle. Going to re-test my one rep max this week coming up and start the cycle over again with a heavier weight! Strength has been made and muscle has been built!
Those were and are my PERSONAL goals. And that's what I promote to you.. doing something for YOU. Not doing what's cool on the Internet, but seriously sitting down with yourself and asking yourself what you want? It doesn't have to be a program. You can wake up and literally decide how you want to work out that day. You don't need to schedule and plan everything. It can become stressful and overwhelming. Just do you. Do what feels right.
Same with food. You're allowed to eat however you want. You don't have to follow what anyone says. Eat healthy AND BALANCED. Let yourself be free. Say bye to "good" and "bad" foods. Listen to your body. It KNOWS what it wants and what it needs.
The goal is happiness, freedom and being healthy. You can accomplish all of this by listening to your heart and your body. What do you want?
