Have you ever had this happen? You go out to eat with friends, you order WHAT YOU WANT, which may be a chicken salad, and you get comments like:
Oh you're just trying to be skinny.
You're already skinny enough, why don't you get the burger.
Seriously, you're just getting a salad!?
UGH. THE WORST.
Then the SAME THING HAPPENS when you order something not-so-healthy and decide to get the burger and fries and smoothie, etc. You hear things like:
OMG. But I thought you were the healthy one?
Wow are you off your diet?
Are you okay today?
No matter what, you feel like you're being judged by what you order, when in reality WHO CARES. It's your choice.
You know why I think people are so judgemental and make snarky comments? Because THEY are insecure about their choices themselves, so they feel the need to put it on someone else.
You are doing NOTHING wrong choosing what YOU WANT. Be confident in your choice. Let people say whatever. But know that YOU'RE ALLOWED to stick up for yourself.
"Yes, I eat 'healthy' most of the time, but today I really feel like pizza. It's not the end of the world!"
The same goes for shaming different body types. We ALL get it no matter what we look like.
Right now, naturally "skinny" girls get comments like:
Um just get a damn burger and put some meat on your bones.
Well maybe I don't want the burger. Maybe I'm happy and content with the chicken and veggies.
You can never judge someone by what they look like.
You never know if that "skinny" girl is really self-conscious about her body.
So let's stop the judgement and just be confident and happy with what WE ARE DOING and stop being so concerned about others' choices.
YA FEEL ME!?
