So I've been super inspired lately to create a vision/inspiration board. I always have pics put up around my desk where I work as reminders of positivity, motivation, and the people I love. But, recently I decided I need to upgrade, update, and give it a little more thought.
In one of my previous posts I talk about how I wish I didn't look to others for motivation, I wish I would have looked at myself. I still 100% agree with that, but included in my vision board are people that inspire and motivate me because of who they are as a person. Because of their determination, passions, views of the world. Not because of what they look like.
People in my Life
My father will also be my hero. He's currently battling cancer and I've never seen him so strong. Every day he does his best to stay positive and fight. It kills me on the inside to see him go through something so horrible, but his perseverance is something I idolize. My mom is my best friend, the funniest person I know. She's not afraid to be her quirky weird self. She is so self-less and would do anything for anyone. If I can be half the woman she is, then I'm happy.
Cassey not only helped me find my passion for health and fitness, but she inspires me because of her work ethic, her kindness, and her determination to make big things happen. I want to live my life as passionate as she does every single day. The way she treats people is absolutely beautiful. She's the most down-to-earth, genuine person I know, and I'll forever be grateful for the opportunities she has given me.

Ah this girl. Where do I even begin? We met the year I graduated university when we found out that we were born on the same day, in the same town, in the same hospital. She is my earth angel. She has the most beautiful heart and soul. She is deep, she is raw, she is real and she is honest. I'm inspired by the way she lives her life and carries herself. She follows her heart and her instinct with such ease. She means more to me than she knows and I look to her for inspiration when I'm having a bad day or feeling down about my direction in life.
Lexi Long Legs (@lexilonglegs27)
I could go on about this girl for days. The moment we first met, we just clicked. When we're together we just laugh and laugh, but we also have super serious convos. We have a lot in common and it's so refreshing to have someone like that in your life - that you know will always be there for you. She's my LA bestie and I love her to pieces.
I look to myself for motivation. This may be the most important thing you can do. Look back at who you were years ago, and look at who you are today. Are you happy? Could you be doing better? Are you improving? These are questions you should ask yourself daily. There's nothing more motivating than watching yourself become someone you never imagined. And you need to use that as motivation every day to become better and progress in life. To me, that means loving and accepting myself. Being happy and healthy so I can help others do the same.
What it means to SHINE
If you're a POP instructor then you know the acronym we have for SHINE, but it also means something more. When I was in LA in January I had the opportunity to spend the weekend with five amazing women part of the #POParmy, Jules, Amiee, Michelle, Nina and Cassey. To end the first day, Cassey and Jules took us on a run, but we didn't know where we were going. It was super thrilling to be running through the streets of LA at night having no idea where we would end up. Of course, I trusted that it would be good.
We ended up at Lacma Lights. It's part of the LA County Museum of Art - there are over 200 cast iron street lamps that literally light up the streets. Why did we run there? Because through the power of POP Pilates, we are SHINING up the world with positivity, passion, self-love, and just making people HAPPY. It was one of the most magical memories I will never forget. I use it as a reminder every single day for my purpose in life - to help others SHINE!
Josie (@josievmai) is one of the first YouTubers I started watching consistently. Her transformation story is very similar to mine. I remember the day I watched this video. It was a wake-up call for me. So much of it hit home and I felt like I was kicked in the stomach because it was a reality check that I had a problem and needed to fix it. If you're someone who suffers from the dieting mentality, counting calories, or binge eating, then I HIGHLY suggest looking into Josie's videos! She now promotes #FightForBalance with her vids! She's super cute, relatable and fun to watch.
Kara's YouTube channel is one of my fave's because she posts consistently (sometimes every day) and I often eat my breakfast and watch Kara videos :) She's a bikini competitor - many of her vlogs are about prep life, but she has A LOT of really good workout footage for gym and lifting inspiration. She's also a registered dietitian and has an awesome series called "Dietitian Talks" where she gives advice and info that is LEGIT because it's backed up by research. She's really well spoken, realistic and honest. I have learned a lot about food and nutrition from her videos.
Nikki is another one of my YouTube faves because her workout videos seriously make me want to get to the gym and lift things up haha But, also because her vlogs are pretty funny. She's very real about who she is and her training style. I had the opportunity to meet Nikki at the LA Fit Expo in January! And she's honestly so sweet in person too. If you want some hardcore gym motivation from an hilarious chick, then Nikki is your girl.
Now, I'm for real about to get super cheesy here. Love. Relationships. They have been hard for me. Especially the last few years. If you read my post I Can't Date You Because I Have an Eating Disorder then you'll have a better idea why. But I've always believed in having this true, real, deep, crazy, passionate, unexplainable love for someone. Like is that so unrealistic? I see so many people jump from relationship to relationship. I'd rather spend my time having quality relationships that mean something more. I'm 24 and never had a "real" relationship. I won't settle for something I don't consider extremely special.
The PIIT28 Community
PIIT28 is a workout program that Cassey created and released this year. The thing about PIIT28 (besides the fact that it's an incredibly good workout) is the community. My goal is to make fitness more than vanity. For it to be about loving yourself, your body, and finding community and friendships that support one another. It's a beautiful thing when you can live a passionate life revolved around lifting people up and helping them reach their potential.
I mean, look at those faces of happiness!
There's so many more things and people that inspire me, but I hope that the ones I listed help you gain some insight about what can inspire your life. What does your vision look like?
