As many of you may know I just got back from a week in LA! I was working with the Blogifam at the IDEA Fit Expo. It was the first time Cassey has ever sold her POPFLEX clothes in a store and you could try it on! It was soooo fun meeting popsters and other POP instructors! It was like a 3 day POP Party!
Cassey held a class with over 500 people and I live-streamed part of it for the POP Pilates Facebook page. You can still check out the video HERE! It was like magic watching everyone do POP together!
Here's a pic of a group of POP instructors that came together to hangout and help out at the booth! When POP instructors get together it's like one big ball of positive energy. My face hurt because I was smiling so much! If you want to join the POP Army, check out all the info HERE. Ultimate squad goals.
After the crazy work we did at the expo, we took the Monday off and went on a work trip to Laguna Beach! Obviously I was in love. Laguna is life goals. The houses are gorgeous and the beaches are amazing! We had a delicious lunch and spent the afternoon on the beach. Here's a group pic of the Blogifam!
Now, it seems like all fun and good times (which is was)! But I want to talk more about traveling while recovering from an ED. Why is this a topic? Because traveling takes you out of your element. It takes you out of your comfort zone. No longer are you in your regular routine, eating your regular foods, doing your normal workout routine. Ohhhh boy. Anxiety kicks in. Will I get super fat over this week because I'm not working out as much and eating differently? I don't know about you, but I get super bloated when I travel, so that doesn't help the body image. The week was a struggle body image wise for me. Food was on my mind a lot and so were all the missed workouts. The day traveling back was really bad. I had too much time to ruminate on my body. But you know what? It's been a few days since I got back, and I'm okay. Your body doesn't change that much in such a short period of time. The thing is, your mind does. Your thoughts go all over the place, but thoughts are JUST THOUGHTS. They aren't true. Why worry so much about your body when you should be enjoying the experiences you're given.
I was lucky enough to have spend the majority of my time with these two girls, Lexi (@lexilonglegs27) and Leslie (@popster_leslie). Lexi lets me crash at her apartment when I go to LA and I can't thank her enough. I mean, we are both peanut butter addicts and she knows that I love my oatmeal for breakfast. She's the best host ever.
Both are incredible women who inspire me so much. We connect really well and I felt really grounded with them. They helped me more than they know with the struggles I was going through on my trip.
So more than anything, as part of my personal self-discovery, this trip helped me love myself more. It helped my live in the moment and truly appreciate the people I'm around. Forget about your body. Forget about food and working out. Just live in the damn moment and be grateful for the life you are given. I know it's easier said than done, but sometimes you just need to let go and be free.
