Body image is such a f*cked up thing. One minute you can be feeling so fly, and the next, you want to crawl into bed and cry.
Did you eat something "bad"? Did you see an "unflattering" picture of yourself? Did you compare yourself to someone else? WHY did your body image change THAT FAST?
Honestly, your body does not change that drastically in minutes... so why does your body IMAGE?
Because that's exactly what it is - an IMAGE. We stare at it for too long that we begin to see things that aren't even there and blow things out of proportion. Do you think if someone else looked you, they would be thinking all those negative things too? NO. They WOULD NOT.
You might think they would, but it's an image. It's in your head.
Damn, I hate when people say that - "all in my head".
I used to think that my body could change instantly. Like it would literally be fatter the moment I ate food.
I used to cry and cry and cry because I thought I would gain 5lbs overnight.
But those thoughts aren't realistic. They are just thoughts. They are not true.
Finally I was able to find freedom and peace with my body and food.
I no longer cry and go into hibernation mode after eating something "bad". I'm okay. I live. I survive.
I did this by re-framing my thoughts. By asking myself questions. By rationalizing what was REALLY going on. The problem wasn't my body.
You can find that peace too. You NEED to find that peace if you want to live your life freely.
